Setting up RCCMD with Nutanix

If your environment consists only of Nutanix hosts, RCCMD cannot be installed directly because Nutanix AHV does not support it. 

In this case, you must use a separate server with VMware Player and run an ESXi virtual machine on it. RCCMD is installed on this ESXi VM and the IP addresses of the Nutanix CVMs are configured as shutdown targets. 

In the event of a power failure, RCCMD triggers the shutdown of the Nutanix CVMs via VMware Tools, which then cleanly shuts down the Nutanix hosts. 

This ESXi VM layer is mandatory and cannot be skipped.
