Question
Can RCCMD be installed and used on Azure or Azure Local?
Answer
Yes. RCCMD can be used in Azure and Azure Local environments. For this, the RCCMD Windows Application must be installed directly on the respective Windows host within the Azure environment.
RCCMD is installed on the host like a normal Windows application. The installation principle is comparable to the RCCMD installation on a Windows Hyper-V host.
Installation in Brief
- Prepare the Windows host in Azure or Azure Local
- Install the RCCMD Windows Installer on the host.
- Run the installer with administrator rights
- Enter the license key or use a trial license
- Install the RCCMD service and web interface
- Open the RCCMD web interface and configure the client
- Test communication with the CS141 / BACS Webmanager
- Check the shutdown sequence

How does RCCMD work in Azure?
After installation, RCCMD runs as a service on the Windows host. The RCCMD client receives signals from an authorized sender, for example a CS141 or BACS Webmanager, and then executes the configured actions on this host.
These actions can include, for example:
- Executing scripts or commands
- Waiting times between individual actions
- Notifications
-
Shutting down the Windows host
Summary
RCCMD can be used on Azure and Azure Local if the RCCMD Windows Application is installed directly on the corresponding host. The host then receives RCCMD signals and executes the configured jobs locally.
