Issue:
When attempting to update the firmware of a CS141BSC UPS from version 2.22.4 to 2.26, the upload in the web interface completes successfully, but the update is subsequently not installed.
After the upload finishes, the progress bars disappear without any further message, and after a restart, the old firmware version is still active.
The options “Reset to factory settings” and “Reset network to factory settings” were not enabled during the update.
Solution:
If no prompt for username and password appears at around 40% during the firmware update, and the process finishes at 100% without installation, the following steps usually help:
-
Completely clear the browser cache
- Clear the cache via the browser’s settings.
- The F5 key only reloads from the internal cache.
- CTRL + F5 can reload cache and display, but does not work reliably in all browsers.
- The safest method is to manually clear the browser cache in the options.
- Alternatively, use a different web browser.
-
Restart the CS141
- Perform a device restart.
After these steps, the firmware update should proceed normally and be installed.
