This article explains what to do if a certificate warning appears when accessing the CS141 web interface, for example NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID or “Certificate is no longer valid/current”.
Note:
This issue should already be fixed with firmware version 2.32.
Problem
When accessing the CS141 web interface via HTTPS, the browser blocks access or shows a warning, e.g.:
NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID
“The web certificate is no longer valid/current”
Cause
The CS141 web server factory default certificate has not been renewed for a long time. This typically happens if no update (including a reset to factory settings) has been performed for an extended period.
Solution
Step 1: Download the new certificate (server.pem)
Download the current PEM file:
server.pem
You can download the file at the end of this article.
Step 2: Upload server.pem to the CS141
Open the CS141 web interface.
Navigate to System > Web server.
Upload server.pem (file selection or drag and drop, depending on the interface).
Confirm the upload.
Step 3: Browser check
Reload the page (clear the browser cache if necessary).
Check whether the warning is gone.
If a warning still appears: Open the certificate details in the browser and check the validity date.
Note:
You can find more information on creating a certificate with key yourself in the following article: Creating a certificate and key
